I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Word on Fire to talk video games as a site for religious expression and the wonderful weirdness of being a Catholic gamer. As I’ve said before, sometimes it seems as though there’s more god stuff in games than in the real world. There’s an opportunity here for thoughtful and respectful interplay between our in-game ideas of what gods should be and the out-game versions of God presented in the church or temple down the street.
And unlike most interviews, my hosts Fr. Blake and Bobby Angel turn out to be gamers themselves. Interesting.
